Historical and cultural heritage

Alsace is also a region with a rich historical and cultural heritage. Thus, numerous fortified castles dot the region and can easily be visited. The closest to our guest rooms are Wangenbourg, Freudeneck, Haut-Barr, and Nideck.

Alsace, a land of multicultural influences, also boasts a significant religious heritage. Numerous places of worship, Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish, are scattered throughout our region, not only in the large cities of Strasbourg and Colmar but also in smaller towns and villages such as Marmoutier with its 10th-century abbey, the Jewish cemetery and synagogue of Westoffen, which are less than 10 km from our guest rooms.

The architectural heritage is also remarkable, particularly with the Vauban fortifications in Strasbourg, Colmar, and Neuf-Brisach.

Alsace is also a land of remembrance due to its unique history; the Alsace Moselle Memorial and the Struthof concentration camp bear witness to this.

You can also visit the numerous museums in the region, such as the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Historical Museum in Strasbourg, the Unterlinden Museum, the Bartholdi Museum in Colmar, and the Lalique Museum in Wingen-sur-Moder, to name just a few.

Alsace is a region rich in traditions with its specificities such as the Christmas and Easter festivities.

By choosing our guest rooms, you can experience the magic of Christmas in Alsace, with Christmas markets, decorated trees, and illuminations that give a fairytale atmosphere to the streets, both in Strasbourg and in the many Alsatian towns and villages. During this special time of year, numerous events are also organized: concerts, exhibitions to offer you a unique experience.

Easter is the major spring event in Alsace. It marks the end of Lent and the return of warmer weather. It is one of the most representative celebrations of Alsatian traditions: the Easter egg hunt, Easter tree decorations, and typical culinary specialties such as leg of lamb and "lämele" (Easter lamb-shaped cake)...
